Project Engineer (ACMV)

Job Description

 The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing complex projects, primarily in the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) domain, in accordance with company procedures. This includes ensuring continuous improvement in productivity, customer satisfaction, schedule adherence, project delivery, and safety performance. The role involves technical oversight, project coordination, and close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

 Project Management Support: Assist the Project Manager in the execution of project management tasks, including the development and monitoring of project schedules, coordination with subcontractors, and ensuring efficient workflow.

  • ACMV Systems Engineering: Contribute to the project engineering for Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Project Timelines & Budget Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that all milestones are met and expenses are controlled. Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to ensure the smooth execution of HVAC system installations.
  • Site Supervision & Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work is progressing according to specifications and quality standards, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to clients and internal project teams, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and ensure quick resolution to minimize project delays.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and other necessary records.
  • Project Delivery & Cost Control: Ensure timely project delivery within specified deadlines. Monitor and enforce cost control measures to maintain profitability and meet financial objectives.
  • Site Administration Assistance: Assist in site administration tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations and addressing any logistical or operational challenges that may arise.
  • Design & Tender Support: Assist in the preliminary design and budgeting for Design and Build tenders, ensuring accurate estimations and alignment with client requirements.

  

Job Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) works.
  • Educational Qualifications: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including equipment selection, load calculations, and ductwork design.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring efficient and timely project delivery.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software used for HVAC system design and drafting.
  • Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail to resolve issues efficiently.
