Job Description:
The Project Manager (Electrical) is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical construction projects. This role requires critical decision-making to ensure the quality, timeliness, and successful delivery of each project. The Project Manager will supervise on-site operations teams, vendors, and subcontractors, while liaising with clients to ensure all electrical work adheres to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The role involves managing day-to-day activities, from planning and scheduling to completion, with strong communication and coordination with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management Support: Assist the Director in managing the engineering aspects of electrical systems, including planning, defining project scope, and setting goals and deliverables.
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Project Manager to ensure project milestones are met, coordinating activities and resolving issues as they arise.
- Team Management: Oversee the performance of subcontractors, supervisors, and workers, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with clients, authorities, and consultants to resolve any bottlenecks.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, codes, and industry standards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Communication: Regularly update stakeholders—including clients, management, and team members—on project status, progress, and key developments.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to avoid delays and complications.
- Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards throughout the project, conducting site inspections and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Documentation: Prepare and update site reports, monitor progress, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Safety and Risk Assessment: Conduct safety compliance checks and risk assessments to ensure adherence to all relevant safety guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical works.
- Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations. In-depth experience with Low Voltage (LV) switchgear, distribution boards, cable selection, electrical single-line diagrams, cable containment systems, and lighting fixtures.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Technical Drawing Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical design and layout.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate project documentation and ensure the highest standards of quality control.
